The idea of organising an international conference here in Sabah first came about twelve thousand feet in the air, in a return flight from KL to KK. Two members from Persatuan Tadika Sabah, had just attended a very inspiring ECE conference in KL, wishing that more teachers from Sabah could also attend such conferences. With this vision in mind, they decided to take up this challenge and organise an ECCE conference in Sabah!

In year 2017, ECCE history was made. The first International Early Childhood Conference was held on 28th - 19th August 2017 at Klagan Hotel, Warisan Square, Kota Kinabalu. It was a collaborative effort by Persatuan Tadika Sabah (PTS), Sabah Chinese Kindergarten Boards Association (SCKBA), Persatuan Perkhidmatan Taska Sabah (PPTS), Sabah Foundation, Sidma College, PACOS trust, Sabah Institute of Arts (SIA), and Archdiocesan Early Childhood Education Committee (AECEC) We had speakers from Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, China and Malaysia sharing their expertise at the conference. The theme for the conference was, "Towards Quality Early Childhood Education". Our second conference was held in 2019 at Sutera Harbour Hotel, Kota Kinabalu. For this conference we were blessed to have international speakers from Spain, Finland, Taiwan, and Singapore with the theme, "Towards quality ECE practices".

After a 3 year break due to the pandemic, we are now back in full steam with our third IECC conference with the theme, "REimagine, REconnect, REignite!" With so many challenges ahead of ECE teachers, its time to REimagine the way we teach and the way children learnt, to REconnect with the purpose of education, and to REignite ourselves to step OUT, step UP with a new passion and desire as ECCE educators!

1. To upgrade the quality and profession of Early Childhood Care and Education.
2. To bring exposure and fresh insights into the best practices for teaching and learning.
3. To allow teachers to network and connect with the wider early childhood community both locally and worldwide.
